11:12AM - Quit my Job

So I am posting this here where all of five people will probably see it because I made the mistake of adding some co-workers to my facebook and i don't really want them seeing me complain about what a hellhole that was. Downfall of facebook i suppose can't say nothing without upsetting someone, and with the closeness of collaterals in my field, don't want information to reach other potential employers.

But yes, after three months I have quit my job. I left civally but man the place was hell and they really lied to e about well everything.

Here is a list of lies they told.

You will be able to create a flexible schedule to meet your needs and take time off as you wish and need

flexible means that you are responsible for your own hours and when you have to work twelve hour days they don't have to pay overtime. They do not offer holidays, or vacations because "you are responsible for your own hours"

the supervisors and staff will be very supportive and if you need extra support you can schedule an appointment with billing or supervision for assistance.

yes you can schedule an appointment, that they will cancel at the last minute even though you blocked out time in your schedule to meet with them. So not only are you still lost, but now you get paid less.

You will get plenty of on the job training.

you get one week where they make your schedule, ten hours of shadowing someone, learn the opening paperwork and then you are entirely on your own developing treatment plans, updates, assessments, and all collateral work. Also I had the fun addition where the person I shadowed trained me incorrectly so I spent three weeks doing things wrong, then had to redo them in addition to the work I was doing and I didn't get paid for the things I did wrong.

It is easy to get full time, even with cancellations just schedule family consults and reschedule in the same week.

clients who no-show, which is most often what they do, leave you with no notice, not enough time to schedule someone new and often don't return calls to reschedule in the same week. When I mentioned this I was told "It was my responsibility and I should make time on weekends if I have to." I worked 9-7 everyday, like i'm going to work friggin' weekends.

Other sucky things:
1)Fee for service means that I get paid only for the hour that I meet with someone, the contacts to collaterals, paperwork, insurance updates, and other notes are not paid for and take up most of the time.
2)No pay for mileage. I went everyone in Mass from Attleboro, to Taunton, Seekonk to Canton. If a client does not show up at their own house, I not only do not get paid for the hour I do not get paid for the gas for the trip. It was damaging to my car.
3)I have no office, no desk, no filing cabinet, no computer and most importantly no phone. I have a voicemail box i have to check several times a day. Since this is an outreach job and I can spend days not in the office. I went over my minutes, plus had the advantage of clients calling to cancel ten minutes before their appointment and not getting the message.
4)If all the paperwork is not perfect I do not get paid, I was responsible for scheduling, medication summaries, insurance releases, treatment plans, treatment plan updates, assessment tools, collateral contact summaries, doctor's appointments oh and somewhere in there I guess I was supposed to actually treat them to... so yeah the paperwork was almost never perfect.
5)I had to provide my own treatment modules. THat means I had to buy all the toys for play therapy, buy all the books for treatment models and find time to photocopy things for clients.

So yeah, I bailed, I had to, I was working a 60 to 70 hour week with all the travelling, paperwork, client meetings combined. I was taking work home and working on weekends, which is technically illegal, but hell they did not even give me a filing cabinet so where was I supposed to keep my files and I didn't have a desk just a staffroom with a table so I had no place to do the damn work. So very secret protected health information was often in a bin in my car.

I am just glad to be gone, I can focus on getting my license, getting a new job and getting my life back without sleepless nights, panic attacks and crying spells.

My wii fit board came in yesterday! I was very excited. It had been 13 days since the whole flooded basement incident. I know the exact number of days because my wii fit decided to scold me for not using it for 13 days. I think the best part was the fitness tip. It always wants to give a fitness tip when you log on, and you always say yes because when you tell it you don't want to hear it, the little wii fit icon looks so sad you start to feel bad. It's tip was this:

Take a luke warm bath before going to bed, it will help relax you and you will sleep better. I can not take a bath, it's not good for my circuitry."

Yes i noticed that.

11:52AM - That's not what I would call it...

surfing the internet and I found this description.

The New England Anime Society, Inc. is a New England based non-profit organization dedicated to furthering public education and understanding of the Japanese language and culture through written and visual media.

again... furthering public education and understanding of the Japanese language and culture through written and visual media.

That's what I call a creative description.

I am watching the weirdest version of little red riding hood ever. It is a cartoon, and it features the main characters as chinese. little red riding hood knows kung fu, and calling someone "a little egg roll" is a term of endearment. As well as any other chinese food, up to and including Miso soup. The was a tea leave reading fortune teller that had absolutely no bearing on the story and then the day was saved with herbal tea and the main character is called Little Red Happy Coat.

10:43AM - evil D&D (mostly for Rose)

Rose, you had mentioned that another Drow god might work better for your character so I found some source material. There is one in particular Vhaeraun, he is a male lesser diety, god of thievery and furthering Drow aims on the surface world. He is about sexual equality and opposes Lolth's matriarchy. His followers are mostly males escaping Lolth worshippers. He also believes that Drows should work with other elven races for common advancement. Refuses to work with Dwarves and gnomes though humans and halflings are okay, and I suppose by default orcs would also be alright as well.

There is also Ghaunadaur, he is a lesser god, a giant slime thing, has a tendency to eat his followers, I don't really see any advantage for worshipping that one.

and of course there is Lolth, which you already know about.

I leave the choice to you, whatever you decide, I can retcon appropriately.

Either way I have every intention of including the other Drow factions.

12:31PM - Fourth of July Party

I am going to have a party on fourth of July next week, will start around 2:30- 3:00. It will be a cook out, hamburgers, hot dogs, I can probably convince my mom to make some meatballs. There should be a firework display, but I will have to look that up, because they do weird things with that display like not put it on fourth of July even though it is on a saturday.

2:58PM - Fun with my father

Conversation with my Dad today:

Him: "So are you doing something with Alex today?"
Me: "Yeah probably"
Him: "Oh what are you guys doing?"
Me: "I don't know yet, why?"
Him: "No reason."

two minutes later

Him: So is Alex working today?
Me: Yes.
Him: Oh what time is he getting out of work?
Me: 4:00. Why?
Him: I was just curious.

two minutes later
Him: Do you think Alex would like to go to a family style chicken dinner? I was thinking we would take him out to celebrate.

I don't know why he couldn't tell me that the first time... Ow, my brain hurts from thinking about it.

10:02AM - Westboro Baptist Church Protest

I think the best way to combat the Baptist Church would not be with ridicule but with a presentation of the other side. I.E. the parts of their own religion that they are ignoring, the peace and love parts.
The point of the protest would not be to convince them, but to convince other people. The Westboro Baptist Church is not going to stop but a protest will show the people of RI that there is another side to this debate, and that there is support.
A lot would have to come from the christian perspective but anything from any other religion that has a peace and love message should be included too.
If a protest is in order suggest taking their strategy and twisting it against them.

If people are serious about this I will try to see what other connections I can make.
I will need to know what they are protesting exactly.
